1) Dedicated IP address.
To install SSL certificate, the website needs to have a dedicated IP address. If the website is on shared IP address, you need to change it to a dedicated IP address.
2) Generate Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
You can generate CSR from WHM >> SSL/TLS >> Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request. You may need to enter the following details while generating the CSR.
Host to make cert for:
City:
State:
Country:
(2 letter abbreviation)
Company Name:
Company Division:
Email Address the Cert will be sent to:
It will generate the CSR, key and a self signed certificate for the domain.
3) Purchase certificate and install it.
Once the CSR is generated, you need to purchase the certificate from Certificate Authority (CA). After it, you can install the certificate on website at WHM >>SSL/TLS >> Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain.
